The continental self (mirror task)

Ridges & canyons formed by time you don't see,
A twitch & a swallow living life flying free,
A sigh from the barefaced cheek of a rock,
Solid & steadfast no time & no clock,
A broken blue vein like a babbling brook,
Follows the eye to the story it took,
Pourous, smooth granite that follows the sun,
Pigmented gorged lines a sign of things to come,
Light refracted,
Abstractly distracted,
Glittering crystal skies,
Hooped & hooded diamond eyes,
A lonesome lash un-roots its wishes lost & unsaid,
Follow me down where the dried tracks of a river bed once led
